Tried some Reo 2 3/4 dram 8 1/2 tonight from the 27 yard line. Yep broke the targets with no problem. I expected different. Great combination for 16 yard shooting. I,m sold.

Talked to one of the guys who shot bunker for the army. Didn't know they use 7/8 ounce of number 9 shot for the events.

shannon391 My scores have no impact on my knowledge. I know more about ballistics than you may think. Trained by the military. Can you take out a 4 inch by 8 inch groundhog at 1000 yards? I can.

Not trying to start a fight, but why test from the 27 yd mark when your not there yet? Should we not practice more from where we normally shoot? Thats my line of thinking anyway.---Matt

I was up at Howell, Michigan, shooting trap and some of that 'other' sport, you know, the one where the birds attack you. And, gorging myself on brats, redskins and corn...

Why do bunker loads get compared to ATA loads so often here ? I know it's trap too but are there any ATA Grand winners shooting 7/8's bunker loads? ATA won't let us shoot twice at the same target so we tend to put as much shot as they let us in the one we do get to try with. I'm nobody but my experience with the small shot size is that sometimes they work, but in some conditions not so much, I'll stick with 7 1\2's.

I want to hear more about International Trap shooters using #9 shot. SMSnyder, maybe you could elaborate on that.

Just met a young lady from overseas (ANOTHER COUNTRY) who also shoots bunker. I was told by her they use 7/8 ounce and number 9 shot. I was quite surprised being the targets are out there so far. Perhaps that is for the first shot on doubles. Don't know what the rules are in bunker. BigMperazzi, nothing wrong with a little practice from the 27. I didn't say i could hit them all. I was just surprised that 8 1/8 shot out of a mod choke could break them as well as they did. To tell you the truth i really like shooting bunker at Cardinal. Quite exciting game and not so boring as 16 yard events.

Well.. I have shot 8.5's from the 27 at 1330 fps with a .038 choke..Smoke was the picture when I hit them.. I was getting rid of my 8.5's.. and just wanted to see what they would do.. In the hands of my coach.. Hits were very consistent and powerful.. However..for the money.. or regestered..Winchester 7.5's or 8's.. Super Handicap will be my 1st choice.. And yes.. I'll take the entire 1 1/8oz..

    BigM,
AA international come in 9 (skeet) and 7.5 (Trap though skeet does use them sometimes) at 1325fps. Legal for ATA.

In bunker trap they use 7.5 shot, not nines. Whoever told you nines was either not interested in winning or did not know we what he/she was talking about.
