I have measured quite a few of them and most of the full chokes were .690 and a few were as open as .693.

    The chokes on my three Model 12's measure .694 (1923), .693 (1955) and .695 (1957). A Remington 1100 30" fixed-full barrel I had measured at .690, a Rizzini o/u I had measured at .683 (top barrel), and a Browning Broadway I had measured at .688 (top barrel).

    Cheers,

I have a safe full of Model 12's, the barrels are factory .725 to .729 with various choke restrictions from .028 to .048 ... The .028 barrel has been worked on and smokes targets from beyond the 27 yardline ... All are pre 64's, I have one that is a 1936 Model that has 2 boxes on shells through it ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

Someone probably fooled with your gun, but you aren't far off from some .035 chokes I have seen in Model 12 Traps. I wouldn't worry about it.

I have four (full choke) barrels, all from the fifties. The bores are 0.730-0.731. The tightest choke is 35 points. The three barrels that I am absolutely, positively certain are factory range from 32-34 points.

I notice too that most all of the Winchester barrels I look at tend to have about a half inch of parallel at the end, maybe a bit more. Some don't. As we can see from the numbers people are reporting, this was hand work and highly variable at that.
