Model 12 Questions ????

    Wood & a factory rib are the main difference. Saw a nice Y grade Trap for $575, last weekend.

    Really not that many Model-12 Traps say Trap on them .

    Unaltered Mod 12s shoot pretty flat.

    How high? Bead-on, about 3.5-4" at 13 yards, about a foot at working ranges. Your results may vary....

    I for one am simply amazed at the asking prices for Model 12 build-ups, and often wonder how many sell at these prices. If you really think about it though, you could not build one for the money they are asking.

    Here's how I look at the difference. Model 12 trap say from the 30's Vs Field gun of same age. The trap model has seen how many thousands of rounds where the Feild model has probably been shot 1/4 of that. So for the money of having simmons put a rib on one and deck it out with wood of your choosing. Well worth it. I Have owned both and cannot tell the differnce in either pattern or in actual shooting. Just my two cents. Tom R
