Is the Model 12 still a viable gun for trap shooting ?

They will still smoke targets with the best of them. Adjustability is their weakness. If it fits and you like it then yes. Jeff

Hard Cash, the M-12 was and still is a good value, but there is nothing magical about it. If it were the best gun for trap now wouldn't top shooters be using it?

Yes, but road condition has changed, along with traveling, Trap target are still the same speed and in the same place. The shooters and their likes and dislikes have changed

Since the targets are much easier today, the Model 12 just might be the ticket again in the right hands!!

MOdel 12s are terrible for trap. I wish all of you folks would quit shooting them and put them up for sale.

I have two Model 12 Trapguns. They are my favorite for shooting trap. To quote Dave Riffle regarding the Model 12, "The Greatest Hammerless Repeating Shotgun Ever Built". I believe the gentleman knows what he is talking about, he is also a fine man to talk to. 'Nuff said

What you did is Sad, Just Sad.

If that is all she would take for the model 12 You could have at least donated some extra just to help out with the funeral expenses.

Did you buy the other Winchester also?

I hope you at least gave her $250 for it since you feel so sorry for her dealing with the funeral costs.
