1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Probably a Simmons marketed gun or a full Simmons upgrade of a field grade gun. The sharp corners on the receiver point to a "Simmons marketed when new" gun, but the SKEET choke marking points to a field grade gun remarked SKEET and choke bored out to skeet. An original Winchester skeet barrel would be marked WS1. The English Walnut woodwork doesn't look like Simmons, but who knows. The stock and forearm are big bucks items making the whole package almost worth the price.

I hope you mean drop at heel 2 inches, not drop at comb.

Some factory winchester guns were marked skeet, instead of ws-1. Almost all 28 ga guns are marked skeet. Dave Riffle, page 61. But I doubt any had simmons on the rib.

Just thought I'd throw it out there that all barrels of all firearms are measured from the breech face to the end of the barrel.

nice gun! a question for eightbore-" Simmons marketed " does that mean Simmons sold new, converted model 12's? what time period? i had assumed the Simmons model 12s that i see were customer sent guns, not new guns modified for sale. thanks. tomaso

Simmons did market skeet guns that were done in their shop from in the white model 12's from the factory. This was in the 50s' and you can find ads for them.
