1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

I am looking for info to help me value a winchester model 12 20 ga trap.

The gun is a strong 90%, sn1059xxx (1946 mfg?) 28 inch barrel, full choke, solid rib, and is stamped trap on the mag extension.

Has red win kick pad, has checkered forearm and stock. Looks like completely original with no alterations.

I will try and post pictures later, but I am thinking that this is a fairly rare shotgun.

You guys that own one of these can you help me with an opinion as to what the value would be.

I sure would appreciate your opinion

    Thanks

    Art

Really? I did not know that. Must be a rare gun. Wish I could see a picture. I'd post it.

Jeff, you must be older than me. That had to be before my time.

I have no doubt that this is a trap, it is stamped trap on the bottom of the mag ext tube just like many others I have seen.

If anyone would have an opinion as to what you think the gun would be worth I would appreciate it very much

    Thanks

I remember reading something about some of the smaller gauge guns were marked trap and it was a trap grade gun and not a gun designed for trap. I'll try and dig that up but can anyone else shed some light on this? Thanks, Mike.

Mike P is correct! The trap grade was like a modern day upgrade! It is in the books explaining this by Madis and Riffle! Tom Rhoads

    Mia,

    Private message sent.

I was not able to post pictures, I will email pictures to anyone interested in seeing pictures of the model 12 20 ga trap.

The gun will be for sale at the OGCA gun show in Wilmington Ohio this weekend March 13 and 14. I will be at tables O-6 and O-7. I have not yet decided on a selling price. I don't know enough to be fair yet.

    Thanks for all the interest.

If you go to a gun show, you will give it away

Let me rephrase that. Everyone that goes to a gun show is a price crook. Every story that ocmes out ofa gun show is how I beat the seller.

And the biggest reason is that 99% of the traffic is specific gun oriented. Meaning that they have no interest in your gun but will take it for peanuts if you will sell it for that. And you do.

    Not a good move.

    Thank You MIA,

I hope to gain enough information on this site to be fair when I price the model 12 20 ga trap.

Also let me thank you in advance for offering to post the pictures I sent you.

I wll try to exercise good judgment when someone shows interest in my model 12.

    Thanks again
