I load the following in ACTIV Hulls so they are easily identified for shoot-offs.

ACTIV HULL 33.5 LONGSHOT POWDER-1 3/16ths of #6s Magnum Shot, RIO PRIMER, WINDJAMMER WAD or ORANGE AA CLONE.

You can use this load in Gold Medal Plastic-AA HS HULL the 1 3/16ths of shot actually speeds it up over the 1 1/4oz load should be somewhere between 1440fps and 1505fps pressures around 10,000 in AA Hull and 9700 in Gold Medal

80 yard shots are easily made with this load, you don't need bigger shot than 6s, I use this load to 100 yard shots,w/no changes.

I like using the ACTIV HULL as I know it is a shoot-off shell.

    I use 1 3/16ths where the book lists 1 1/4oz loads.

    I use a scale and 1 3/16ths is 518.5 grains I use 520 grains of shot. My formula is 545-492=53 Divided by 2=26.5 grs + 492 grs 1 1/8th oz + 26.5 Grs=
518.5 grs shot, on my digital scale I use 520 grs.

I use a Mec 9000H loader w/adjustable charging bar to dial in the load.

I used the new BASIC ReLOADING manual for specs. They don't list 1 3/16ths this cuts down on recoil and pressures from the 1 1/4oz loads.

For ANNIE OAKLEY's I use 32 grains LONGSHOT and 1 1/8th oz shot and speed is around 1420 fps still use #6s for 3rd shot and 4th shot pick-ups, the targets are usually dropping pretty fast on 3rd and 4th shot so shoot a little under them.

I like Herco it is cheaper and use less of it. Not near as fast though. I do pretty well with is. I mix 4,5 and 6 shot, not sure why? I have broken lots of 80 yard targets with 7.5 handicap trap loads. I like to see it break with authority though so that is why I use the bigger shot. I use 27.5 grains of Herco a CB1138 wad and cheddite primer with an ounce and a quarter shot. Anything size 7 and above works well for really long shots. I have experimented with blue dot but it gives me a head ache. I like the long shot load but I use 29 grains with 1-1/4 ounce load.
