Well, I did it again today at league. I even remember thinking, "DO NOT miss the first bird!" then whoop, there it is... "LOST." Perfect score ruined. Wow, isn't that frustrating? A straight-away, no less. I guess if you're thinking ANYTHING when you call for the bird, you're asking for trouble. You'd think I would know that by now. Ugh.

    Gary,

I still haven't got the elusive 100 straight. While that fact doesn't bother me as much as it does others, i still want to shoot perfect everytime i shoot. I do have several 99's where in i missed the first bird and ran 'em out. Gary( The UNLOADER guy)Bulley even sent me a "99" straight patch as a joke. Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

You can't motivate yourself to NOT do something.

You CAN convince yourself..."First of many!" or "You're dead, sucka" or "Little, tiny pieces" or "Wait for it!" or "Head down, eyes out!" but never "Please don't miss this one!"

I've "motivated" myself out of more targets than I can count!

When you were done you should have shot one more,, then you would have a Polish straight.

    Don't feel bad!

Today I ran the 1st trap ... then the wheels fell off for the next 2 traps! Finally recovered on the 4th trap.

Gary, this worked for me. Aim at the target, literally as if you were trying to break it with a .22 short. Intensifies your focus. Not recommended for each target throughout a program, but I do it for all first and last targets.

    Good luck!

GW22, I just did the same thing yesterday. I think I prefer missing the 1st to the last though. Mike

I've run the middle 98 several times.

Missed first and last target. No patch for that.
