If the enemy is in range, so are you.

It is inadvisable to eject directly over the area you just bombed.

Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword never encountered automatic weapons.

You, you, and you,--Panic. The rest of you follow me.

    Tracers work both ways.

Five second fuses last only three seconds.

Any ship can be a minesweeper---Once.

Never tell the platoon sergeant you have nothing to do.

    Clean it if it`s dirty,
    Oil it, if it squeaks,
Don`t screw with it if it works!

If you see a bomb technician running, keep up with him.

Yea, though I fly through the valley of death
    I shall fear no evil
For I am at 30,000 feet and climbing.

You have never been lost until you have been lost at Mach 3.

Latitude is where we are lost.
Longitude is how long we have been lost.

The only time you have too much fuel is when you are on fire.

If the wings are traveling faster than the fuselage you are in trouble.

When one engine fails on a twin-engine plane, you have enough power to get to the scene of the crash.

    The similarity between pilots and air-traffic controllers is;
If a pilot screws up, the pilot dies.
If the ATC screws up, the pilot dies.

    Three famous last phrases in aviation;
    Why is it doing that?
    Where are we?
    Oh shit.

    Airspeed, altitude, or brains.
Two out of three are needed to successfully complete the flight.

Mankind has a perfect record in aviation.
We never left one up there.

Flying your airplane is more important than radioing a person on the ground who is incapable of, understanding the problem or, doing anything about it.

The Piper Cub is the safest plane in the world. It can just barely kill you.

There is no reason to fly through a thunderstorm in peacetime.

If anything hasn`t broken on your helicopter, it is about to.

You know your landing gear is up and locked when it takes FULL POWER to taxi to the terminal.

A pilot climbs out of a crashed plane just as the fire truck rolls up. "What happened?" said the fireman. Pilots` reply, "Beats hell out of me, I just got here."

Good stuff! Kind of reminds me of the old days.

When I got back to the states, I had a little time before I ETSd. Lucky me, I got stuck in a chicken$hit outfit that had dress inspections every month. The Captain and the First Sgt. came down the line and when they got to me the Capt. said, "This soldier is out of uniform." Top looked at me and said, "Where's your name tag?" And I said, "I don't know Top, I memorized it and threw it away."

Talking about a chicken s--t outfit, a shooter relayed this event to me-He was stationed in Germany, there was a knarly old corporal-who had to stand inspection. During one inspection the Col. asked him about an emblem--"what is this--he said Merril's Maraudes sir, you were in that unit --he said yes sir, where are your medals, some where I guess!, ---after this incident the Col. said--this man is never to stand in any formations again

Phil, that Col paid tribute to that soldier. I salute him for such an act. Jake

Words of wisdom from my dad just before i left for boot camp.

Son, if it moves salute it.
If it dosen't move, move it.
If you can't move it, paint it.

In those days, words to live by.

The longer I thought about this thread title it should have read "Military Words."

Military intelligence is an oxymoron and this thread title is close.
