This is a great deal that lasts only until 31Dec2009. If your in the military or retired give them a call and get yours ordered.

S&W is offering a 40% off discount on all their firearms to active duty and retired military util the end of the month, you will need to email or call Mr. Holt at 413-726-5311 or 703-455-7609DHolt@Smith-Wesson.com and he will provide you with all the information you need. The price if off of MSRP. There is nothing about this on the S&W homepage, but if you call it will be verified as true.

I got to shoot one of the scandium framed 1911s during an "S&W Days" promo and though they only allowed you 10 shots, it was impressive with a Crimson Trace grip on it. It recoiled differently than my Colt, but not any harder. It was likely a tuned model, but would put that old 230 grain round nose wherever that red dot was. I almost bought one, but my finances couldn't keep up with my desire. I'd still like to own one.

    UnionCracker,

Not a problem, I just wanted to pass on these savings to everyone else. I personally own a M&P .45 and I love it. I had a M&P 9MM but I didn't really like the fact that it had no saftey on it, so I sold it and bought the .45. As for the M&P 15's I know nothing about them.

But if you can get them for 40% off why not get one and try it. If you don't like it sell it and you will still make money on it. It's a win win situation in my mind.

Smith & Wesson manufactures the major components on the AR rifles.
The lower and upper are made in-house. The barrels are made by Thompson
Center which S&W ownes. Same with the 1911. S & W makes the frames,
slides and barrels. Small parts are purchased from outside vender's
    like Wilson, Ed Brown, etc.

Active duty and retired military only?

So... my dad, who survived two winters and a summer in Korea at places like Old Baldy, Bunker Hill, Pork Chop and other places, isn't eligible?

    Well isn't that nice.

    Brian,

Have your dad call them and see if he is eligible. Who knows maybe he is.

Very cool, My Nephew is Marine Squad leader prepping for Afgani.

Love my smith M&Pc9 for CCW, It is a tack driver for a compact 9mm. It has a very easy thumb safety with a mag cap of 12 rnds. Comes with 3 grip configurations.

I have read good things about the Rem. AR.
