    Hey, why not ask here. Anyway, I've been looking for a trailer for my 14' aluminum boat and I got a call from a friend of a friend saying that he has one on his property, but no registration. How would I go about getting a plate for this thing? I have no experience with such matters, so any help is appreciated.

    Tell them you built the trailer. They will require a weight slip for charges.

    I've built a few. Work on it some if it makes you feel better. { I have three that the make is titled as unknown.}

    One I did build from scrap trailer parts I scrounged. There are quite a few homemade rigs on the road, I'm sure you've noticed. Like I posted above you need to have it weighed.

    When are you two gonna start fishing?

    Darryl

    And BTW, Joe, Shannon is absolutely correct. Have done the same thing myself.

    Thanks Shannon! I called a Michigan "CAT" certified weigh station today and set up a time to have it weighed.

    Thanks again!

    It worked out great. I got the trailer for $100 and it was very rough, but all there. I took it all apart, sand blasted it, put a new light kit, bearings and wheels on for another $150, sprayed it and I'm ready to go!

    I took the trailer to the weight station and then went to the Secretary of State and I'm all set.

    Now in addition to guns you can build boat trailers.

    Joe, Why would he need a standard wheel Jack on the front? If he wants to keep the boat where it is, a standard flip or other type of front jacks will not raise the tounge high enough for the boats bow to be higher than the stearn and will not drain the water out of the boat properly. Also he will not need one at the boat ramp so it can stay home. Looks very nice Tron. Also you can go to local trash dump to get a trailer or whatever weighed for a tag. The tag office wants a bill of sale so they can collect sales tax on the trailer before they sell you a tag based on weight. Now go out there and get your rod bent. LOL. Break-em all. Jeff

    Nice work Tron,

    I have that same Meyers boat. Don't get three trap shooters leaning to one side.

    Bob, They are whacking the Walleye on the Maumee right now. Soon it be shoudler to shoulder in fisherman, and 1/3 will be game wardens dressed like fishermen.

    DO NOT SHAG.

    I have a wheel stand on my cargo trailer.

    My fishing boat's trailer rests on a saw horse so it can drain.
