I am in the process of switching from Clays powder to E3. I will be using a MEC 9000H. To load 1 oz, the charts recommend 16.5gr. MEC says use a 28 bushing but I have never had any luck with their chart. I will be measuring the loads but I would like to have a closer starting point. Anyone know which bushing will work?

    Thanks
    Jack

I just bought some e3 this weekend and have worked up 2 loads...

29 bushing, 1oz, Downrange (pink wad) the powder charge was 16.5 to 16.8 grns (1,180 to 1,200 fps)

32 bushing same components.... 18.0 grns (1,317 to 1,320 fps)

    Hope this helps....

I'm going to see how they work on targets tonight....

Thanks Shawn, I'll start with the 29 bushing.

SF SGM, As I stated, I will measure all loads (until I am comfortable with the loads).

    Thanks, Jack

A 29 bushing throws around 15.5 on my 650. Wonder why the big difference? And yeah, I weighed a bunch of the drops!

Even if I start with a 30 and work backwards it is still better than the chart recommended.

    Thanks everyone.

If the bushing throws a bit heavier than your likeing just dap on some nail polish inside the bushing it it will get you more in line than going the next size smaller which is sometimes too light of a charge. The polish will last a long, long time in the bushing.

Single stage and jprogressive loaders through different amounts through the same bushing.

Because you work the handle 6 times per shell with a single stage vs once with a progressive.

Mec charts would be light anyway for the lawyers.............
