What adjustments have to be made to a MEC for it to work with the HS hulls? I thought this might be on MEC's website but couldn't find it. Thanks

It used to be on the Winchester website, but things have changed since Hodgdon took over the distribution of WW powders. Basically, the adjustments are:
    1) Lower the pre-crimp some. After the pre-crimp stage, the hole in the middle should be about the size of a pencil eraser.
    2) You may have to change the crimp cam some, too.

You may not need to make any adjustments depending on your components however some find the hull crushing and this usually can be fixed by adding wad pressure and/or lowering the crimp starter.

If they are loading fine and not showing signs of poor crimps or crushing in the center of the tube, you really need to do nothing, except check for a little wad pressure. Usually just enough to seat the wad is plenty.

If the hulls have a crush in the center of the tube, backing off on the crimp cam might help a bit also. Lowering the crimp starter a bit also helps, but is sometimes not enough by itself. It seems like the longer 1oz wads seem to aggravate the crushing issue a bit. Winchester used to have a downloadable manual that had a description of the issues and the adjustments required. It was in the regular data booklet also. You might contact Hodgdon and see if you can get one of the reloading data booklets. http://www.wwpowder.com/HomePage.php Look at the bottom left of the main page for the manual ordering link.

Try using Downrange wads for the 1 oz loads in the Win AA HS hulls. The DR-XL-1 Neon Green wad and the new DRA-12 Pink 1 oz wad both reload great in the Win AA HS hulls. The DR-XL-1 has a deeper shot cup than the Win 1 oz wad and the overall length on the DRA-12 Pink wad is shorter than the Win AA 1 oz wad. So there is more space for the powder and shot to fit in the hull. Just seat the wad against the powder. No more hull crushing or holes in the crimp and you don't have to smash the wad to make it work.
