I'm listening to the idiot in chief, and what a mealy mouth phony the people put in charge.

Petraeus is taking over. He makes reference to a "code of conduct".

    Someone send him a mirror.

Obummer could not even announce something simple like this on his own. Note that everyting out of his mouth was read from his two teleprompters (Obummers head kept swiveling back and forth like the yo-yo he is) It it clear to me that obummer is not really in charge of anything, but simply a puppet for his behind the scenes master who is pulling the strings.

General Petraeus is an excellent leader but does he have health issues?

IMO General Petraeus deserves a rest, not a back breaking new assignment.

    Regarding the Rolling Stone interviewer----

I don't think much of Geraldo Rivera but I think he hit it right on the head when he said "letting this guy in was like letting the a rat into the Eagles nest."

...with our stragedy currently focused on simply paying off the warlords/insurgents/mullahs/etc. not to shoot at us, a shrewd banker would probably be the best choice

Apparently freedom of speech is going away under the Messiah. That said, he was a dumb$#it for talking to the a$$hole from Rolling Stone in the first place...

The only hope is that McChrystal will go on FOX (obviously the only network that will interview him) and tell the world what an Adam Henry, Obama is.

Glorious Fearless Leader is on record dissing Petraeus during 2007 hearings when he was badmouthing the surge.

I'm sure there is Youtube on it.

Why would you want your troops in danger with an idiot in chief like we have?

Option 1: Ride out the war and take responsibility for our eventual defeat.

    Option 2: Quietly resign.

Option 3: Spend a drunken night in Paris with a Rolling Stone reporter and say what you really think, "on the record," knowing that the result is the same as Option 2...but this way Obama fires you, someone else takes responsibility for the eventual failure of the war - and you get to say, "We would've won if he'd left me in charge."

...methinks the General took Door #3.

Obama probably had to do what he did because of the R.S. article but the General
was doing what he had to do because of not getting the troops and supplies to win in Afganistan.
He was just making someone "shit or get off the pot".

Any General that runs 5+ miles per day and shows up in the middle of the night to go out with special forces troops is the kind of general that is needed in ANY war zone.

Democrats can't run a war. Does anyone doubt that we will end up pulling out in a disgraceful defeat. Our failed effort to fight terrorism will only end in them getting stronger. Just goes to show you what third world stone age men can do against the most powerful nation on earth if they are willing to fight and die. We are a nation ruled by political correctness, feminism, corrupt politicians and our corrupt media. We were made great by generations now dead or dying. The baby boomers are not a great generation. Spoiled rotten and pampered from birth. The failed drugged out generation from Woodstock that rejected all the old values of faith, patriotism and family. They have nothing better to replace them with. God and truth are dead in America. Down is up and up is down. But who cares, this afternoon I go shooting again, the third day this week.

You dont have freedom of speech in the military- the people that said that above dont understand.

Having said that- sometimes you withdraw vocally and maybe that is what is happening here. Who knows.

But what is clear is that in our country the military is controlled by the civilian elected government. Everyone in the military understands that.

That doesnt mean you dont state your points- you can- but sometimes there are risks.

What you dont do, is to be critical of the civilian government.

It can be no other way.

    Regards from Iowa
