Of course he wasn't exposed to some of the hateful rhetoric of today. Still the ole man had pretty good advice.

If you remember, he was exposed to just as much hate and indifference as we have seen. Our forefathers were extremely wise and gifted men with the ability to foresee many of the future challenges this great country would face. We are indeed fortunate to reside in such a wonderful country, even though I feel we are under a regime that has taken the wrong path. Even more reason for all of us to stand up and be heard. I feel the worst outcome for this election, but I will never give up in my stand for Freedom and the American way of life. I have been in war and seen many of the countries in this world where freedom is unknown and tyranny and inhumanity to man is rampant. I am Proud to be an AMERICAN. PLEASE EVERYONE--- VOTE ---.

Wasn't it Jefferson who also said that if Americans wanted to keep their Freedoms they had been given, that the Blood of Tyrants would have to be shed now and then?

Because "power" corrupts even the best of men.

I have no problem with differing beliefs, as long as they leave MY Rights and Freedoms ALONE that were given to me by the Founders and my God!!

Bill...nicely spoken. timerfella.... maybe he said that. But because you may have a difference of opinion, don't force it down my throat? Furthermore, you should NEVER condem anyone for exercising their right and duty to vote no matter who they vote for. One man, one vote. I like Bill have seen war and as far as I'm concerned that in itself provides me with more of a duty and choice to vote for anyone that I want. That doesn't make me a libetard, socialist or commie. It makes me an American which I'm proud of. If Romney wins today, so be it he'll be the President of my country.

timberfaller.... I respect your opinion. You should respect mine and me voting for whom I did. Hostility won't get change, it'll get anarchy.

jefferson, oh, yeah.......got his black housekeeper full of puppies.

Jeffersonian thought is not well exposed these days but should be required readin in the high schools. One of the top dog founding fathers.

Thank you Blade819 for this thought. You're one of the few on the political side of this site who seems willing to extend friendship to those who don't follow a far-right ideology.
