I saw on TV were it takes 40 Gallons of pure Sweet Maple Tree sap to make 1 Gallon of Maple Syrup. Is this true? Nothing better than real Maple Syrup on some fresh flapjacks. Uummmmmm i can almost smell it.

The Wall Sreet Journal recently featured a classic cocktail, the Maple Leaf.

2 ounces rye whiskey (or bourbon)

    3/4 ounce maple syrup

    3/4 ounce lemon juice

Shake with ice, serve over ice.

I takes forty gallons or more to make one gallon of syrup. Takes about 3 cases of beer per gallon, more if you have lots of friends. I love this time of year.

The sap buckets are filling fast up here in Ontario, Canada. Great weather for sap production, cold nights and warm days. Bill Malcolm

If you have a Costco near you ... they sell real maple syrup (Canadian) ... good stuff, but not cheap!

Hey Frank ... where in Southern NH?

My (now deceased) Father in Law did some syrup in Candia area. I miss getting some from him and serving them up for his grand daughters.

    Great looking color...
