This is NOT an accident. It is an intentional disregard for safety rules that endangered everyone around him.

He might as well have handed over a case of ammo to the gun control libs.

Some idiots deserve to have their guns confiscated. I hope they throw the book at this POS.

Hawk, I agree completely. Just because he regrets doing it does not make it an accident.

Glad this idiot didn't kill anyone in the process.

First question, Was there no one at the door zip tying the actions opened on handguns, Bolts to trigger guard on rifles?

The shows I attend, police officers are there checking every gun coming in from outside. NO live ammo in chamber or magazines and tying them up in some way.

Second question, Did the guy buy ammo inside and then load his gun?

Its his fault no doubt! It could have been prevented!

Information in the articles states the gun was empty and the chamber zip tied open when he entered the building. Gun owner removed zip tie and loaded the handgun while inside the show.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

Police said Wilkinson removed the round from the gun and applied a flex tie to the weapon when he entered the armory. The show's organizer, Tom Allman, said there are signs posted prohibiting loaded weapons.

"He took a clip out of his pocket, cut off the band and loaded the gun himself," Allman said. "... He's not allowed to load the gun in my building, so he violated all of our instructions right then."

I have long had issues with any alcohol cunsumption while in possession of a firearm.

This person would be okay to drive in most states.

There's no one like a "know it all" type in gun stories. He's the one that drove by the trap club 10 times, finally walked in on day and saw the operation, then gets in a fist fight because someone orders him to open and unload his gun at all times away from a shooting position and his turn to fire. What a blithering idiot.......breakemall

Doesn't anybody have any sympathy for this guy?

    Confiscated 45 auto $ 600
Lawyer for felony charge $ 5,000
Lawyer for personal injury lawsuits (2) $ 10,000
    Settlement personal injury lawsuits (2) $ 20,000

    Total $ 35,600

I think he gets to keep the holster he bought.

News article says that it was zip tyed. He had bought a holster at the show. On his way out wanting to see how it fit he cut the tie which in turn chambered a round. Apparently he had left the loaded mag in the gun. When he tried to holster the gun it discharged. The bullet hit the floor and the fragments injured 2 people. Copy and paste the link below.

I know of no states which have the impairment threshold at .05.

Alcohol was only the secondary factor. Too bad they don't have a breathalyzer for active brain cells.

Never underestimate the potential for the left wing loons to do something like this intentionally in their never-ending efforts to strip the Second Amendment from our Constitution.

In Colorado the statutes set .05 as impaired and.08 as under the influence.

    --------------------------------------------------

So you think a left wing anti-gun organization found a mental midget with a concealed carry permit, fed him a few beers and conviced him to enter a gun show, load a .45, shoot the floor, cause injuries, get his picture in the paper and go to jail all to advance the cause of the anti gun movement.

He is an idiot. He drank alcohol. He caused injury with a firearm. He will be punished. End of story.
