Pesonally I think it is great that we buy so much stuff made in China and that China has so much of our treasury paper. It takes away the motivation for doing unfortunate military type things.

MIA - Can't say I have anything to prove personally. Any one of these links speaks for its self. The Chinese have a ways to go before we can trust them or their products. - Jon Sharp

So is there a country rating system? Does "Made in Mexico" trump "Made in China"?

Word is that China will be the world industrial giant before very long. Just as the western world(primarily the U.S.) exported it's trade "and culture" in the 20th century, China will export BOTH in the coming years. Buisnesses around the world are incouraging their exectutives to learn Chinese, and the Chinese culture. China hold BILLIONS in U.S. debt. That is NOT a good thing!

I think the Chinese hold trillions of dollars of US debt and the intrest is in the tens of billions annually. I don't really understand this but it seems to me that being in debt to another country is a lot like selling part of this country to them. No one loans out that kind of money without some kind of collateral requirement. So with that in mind I guess buying goods made in China isn't quite as un-american as say borrowing a few billion every day so we can continue to shoot up the big sand box.

DBl 20 I agree 100% but it wont happen. China is an industrial giant that I dont think can be stopped. They have hold of the auto parts business as well as electronics, not to mentfion countless others.

A friend of my wifes daughter is in Shanghai teaching English to the Chinese so when they come here to be educated they can speak our language.

She lives with a German guy that works for Volkswagen.

Evidently the Germans arent turning their backs to cheaper labor either.

    Sad but reality. Regards....Gerald
