Is it wet or dry AMD. I have my father in law been going through treatments for over 2 years for the wet type. (worse of the two) Great strides have been made in the past 2 years. From experimental injections,Avastin to a now approved treatment, Lucentis.

Wet AMD is basicly a burst vein bleed on the back of the eye. The father inlaw lost sight(central vision) except for periferal vision. The injections(Avastin & Lucentis) stop the bleed. He can see enough to read large print books or with the use of a magnifying glass.

Seek a good retinal specialist in your area.

Good luck and read as much as you can on it. Knowledge is power.

Over the counter Lutein with xenaphil(spelling not correct)will stop/slow down macular degeneration. Twenty+ years experience. It has worked for me. sam
