Just purchased a Smith&wesson M&P .45 and was wondering what the opinions are on using oil or grease for lubrication. I have always thought that you never use grease on a semi-auto of any kind but recently heard different. If the grease is used very sparingly and you clean the gun well after every outing would it be acceptable? Thanks for your input. Josh Andersen

Use a light gun oil at places recommended in your manual. I would not suggest grease in an auto pistol.

What smith and wesson tells you is good enough, oh yeah clean the crap out of that new gun. I cant believe how dirty new guns can be!
