1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Jim, I might be interested in that 22-250 "beat to shit" if you bend the barrel a little and up the price to $3295. Bulge. LOL.

The devil is in the details

There are many 700 varmits- I think the best ones are the ones with fluted stainless and Kevlar stocks with metal bedding block (not fiberglass)

I have a Model 700 Varmint Special that was made in February of 1976 and a Model 700 VSSF made in May of 1998. Both are in .22-250 and while both are very accurate, the older one is slightly more so - one-hole .380" five-shot groups at 100 yards. It is still in its walnut stock and the bedding has not been touched. It's probably the only Model 700 I own that I can say that about.

Every now and then, you get a good one...

Your choice Remington 700 VSSF or VB 22-250. Both guns have had trigger jobs, barrel set back and rechambered with new cutter. Both have Leupold 12X custom dots installed at the factory with leupold rings and bases. Pillar bedded. Both shoot 39.5 grns of H414 and Sierra 1365 in one hole at a 100yds. Approx 200 rounds thru both guns. $1200 ea or $2000 for the pair. Had them both done at same time so could switch brass from one gun to another with no problems. Since then have given up doggin as it is not the same as it used to be.

Buy a new Savage with the laminated wood-looking stock and be done with it and don't worry about used having a burned barrel or whatever...
