Right hand shooter should face between station 5 & 6. Draw an imaginary line from the Bottom Right corner of the low house window, to the Top Left corner. This is the approximate line the target will fly. Find a distance for your barrel based on your reflexes to sustain the lead. (HOLD ON THE LINE) Look in the hole, shoot at the front edge, but don't try to track it very far. You should break it about half way between the pad, and the low house.

take your stance to the point where you will break the target, put your gun about halfway between there and the window, shoot right at it, no lead necessary, don't worry about when to break it, do what's comfortable for you.

You are missing it in all probability because you are trying to take the advice somewhat akin to what fly gave above

He doesnt know he is giving bad advice because that is what was given to him or works for him

You are missing it because you are concerned with lead.

Face the house- never line your beads up- never- never look at the barrel

Position your gun somewhat outside the house and on on a line from the bottem inside corner extended through the top outside corner

Pretend you are a kid again and you want to squirt someone with a water hose

Look just above the window - dead center- soft focus and watch the target come up and squirt it

Anywhere it feels right pull the trigger- now the closer to the low house you shoot it- the larger your pattern

Never think of sustained lead or any other type of lead

    Regards from Iowa

Hold a level gun on the target line. Call for the bird, when you see it come out of the house pull the trigger. HMB

"Don" obviously is a pseudonym. Richard is most likely his birth name.

Sorry, I took my lessons from Multi-World Champion Mike Schmidt jr. and apparently that is bad advice.

back up 1/2 to station 1 and work your way forward.

My hold point is about centerstake of the adjacent field (real or imagined) which is about 8' outside the window and above the window. I hold high enough to where the receiver just starts to block the window. Look right in the window and don't move until you see the flash. Then it is a short lift and shoot. YMMV.

Years ago an old expert(Oklahoma state champ) told me to place my lead foot in the middle of the pad and right foot in the right rear corner. I hold my gun on the lower left corner of the house opening. I realize I am not an expert but I rarely miss these using this style. Jackie B.

It sounds like you already hit targets. You know the path the bird is flying. Keep it simple. Hold the gun about 10 feet level with the bottom of the window, eyes in the window, call for the bird, black out the target and pull the trigger. You probably know everything just said so I will give you the best advice that only one person has given you so far...
