What a night power went off had to manually raise the garage door. Power was off for almost 4 hours, basement partially flooded because of no power to sump pump. I lost a few thousand hulls in cardboard boxes on the floor.

I got 3.3 inches of rain in less than an hour.

Favorite hulls were in plastic tubs, no problem w/them. I got water in one bag of wads, threw the 4500 on the bench, and drained the bag and spread them out on the floor to dry.

Never a problem with this before, now a little smarter and wiser, everyting is now off the floor from now on.

The Paper Federals all swelled up and are gone.

Running the A/C to get rid of the dampness, swiching from heating to cooling
80 degrees heating to 70 degrees cooling.

Ran the shop vac to gather up the water.

My dad lives in an area that experiences more than normal power outages, and usually ends up with water in his basement within minutes of a heavy storm and outage.

He picked up one of those small (2K watt, I think) Honda generators for a couple hundred bucks and plugs the sump pump into it when it storms and the power goes out. A bit of a hassle but it's worth it to keep things from getting soggy!

Wife finally got a job. Works nights.
I have to cook and do dishes.
My car tires need replacing and an oil change too.
My outboards carburetors got mucked up and now I have to clean them.
The trailer tire blew out. Guess I have to replace those too.

    Gee it's hot.

Harbor Freight has a 900 watt generator in their flyer for $89. Probably chinese, but it's cheap insurance for garage door openers and especially a sump pump. There is also a 12volt sump pump on the market. Larry Evans
