Ginger Bass, an ATA shooter, and 2008 Woman of the Year for Lemon Grove Rod and Gun Club, was shot and killed in her home Saturday night. Her ex-husband, Frank, was also shot, and is in Critical condition at a local hospital, but expected to survive. Details are scarce, but the local news in San Diego are following the case closely, and have articles posted on their web sites.

Sorry to hear that ib...according to the SD Tribune, she was alledgedly killed by her ex husband Frank, (also a trapshooter), who apparently then shot himself in an attempted suicide. Cause of death for Ginger has not been determined...newspaper only referred to "severe trauma". Terrible news. Walt

Not only a trapshooter, Ginger was also a certified instructor for P2K SCTCP, and was fundamental in the forming of night leagues at two gun clubs in San Diego (P2K and LGR&GC). She was also one of the shootmasters for the San Diego County Interclub Trap shoots. Her and Frank's divorce was final on Friday! He is still under a drug induced coma following his surgery today. The local Sheriff's office is waiting to talk to him..
The local news tonight brought out alot of Ginger's past; Truck Driver on the Alaska pipeline, Real Estate Broker; Cut/Stained glass artist; accomplished Trap Shooter (she brought many male shooters to tears)! Great competitor, and a good person!
Ginger will be missed, and there are alot of tears being shed in San Diego!!!
