    Cole Owners,

I'm looking for a gunsmith to work on my Cole, No. 15. Any past experience recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Pat

    I don't but, I'd recommend Doug Braker.

Ed Haley shot a Cole and may still. He was doing some work on Cole's after Bill passed. He is from Washington or Idahoe I believe.
He seems to be well thought of although I haven't used him personally.

You could also talk to Phillip. I am sure he could help you.

What is wrong with it or what do you want done?

Determining the best smith may depend on what you need done. There are many good smiths that could tighten an action and bring the barrels back to proper headspace but things like triggers and ejectors may require a specialists.

Having said that a Cole is a very simple gun and unless your looking for release or trigger work you could go to almost any reputable shotgun smith.

    Joe,

The locking block is starting to show a little wear around the internal pivot and I want to address it before it becomes a bigger problem down the road. I agree the COLE is a simply gun design, but parts are not easy to come by.

    Thanks,
    Pat

Has anyone spoken to Bill's son lately? I would like to find out if any spare parts might be available.

    Thanks,

    Pat

Bill's son used to live in Naperville. I'll watch for him at the club and say something if I see him. Recognized the Cole when he came out to shoot a couple of years ago and said something to him. He might still be here.

I want to thank everyone who responded to my thread and those who sent me PMs. This forum continues to be a great source of information; on just about anything!

    Joe,

If by chance you do see Bill's son, I would greatly appreciate it if you spoke to him about the possibility of purchasing some parts.

    Thanks everyone,

    Pat

Sure Pat. There's a small chance of that. I'm there most days now through the summer and will watch. There must be somebody out there who knows what happened to his parts. I know DeVault can make anything.

In the past was there a thread where some gunsmith was going to do repairs for Bill? Seems as it was maybe something like a lifetime warranty? Do not remember and it was a long time ago and I figured mine would never need anything as I do not shoot it. This was probably before the server crash. Ray

I think Ed Haley was, but I'm not sure he still is? I left a message on the only phone number I had, but I've have not heard back from him.

Has anyone spoken to Ed lately or have a contact number? If you do have his number, please contact me by PM.

    Thanks,

    Pat
