1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

    I think all 41s are N frames....L's are 357 only if I recall

    Calvin's right.

Here's a 4" 686-4 that I'm considering selling. I bought it new with the idea of using it for a hunting back-up gun loaded with three birdshot loads for the creepy crawlers and three 158-grain loads for bigger critters. I sighted it in - perhaps 20 rounds - and parked it in my safe. It went hunting once in a suede-lined holster. It's all-original and as you can see, the sideplate screw heads are virgin - no amateur gunsmithing to worry about.

The -4 is the last 686 engineering update before the forged hammer, trigger and cylinder release were replaced with MIM parts, the classic 10-groove backstrap was replaced with a smooth one and it has no internal lock with its accompanying "Hillary hole" in the side of the frame, therefore it is the most desirable version of the 686. No holster wear, no dings or scuffs and virtually no bore wear - no apologies needed for this one. $700 shipped to the "lower 48" via USPS Priority Mail.

They never did an L frame .41 mag but close enough -there was a few 10mm/40S&W made on the L frame. Pretty good idea that never caught on, wish I had the foresight to pick one up when they were in production.

You don't see nice guns like Ed's on the used market very often, generally they have been shot quite a bit.

Here is a wonderful 586 with a 6 inch barrel. This is a new gun with the box, paper work and cleaning kit. I have it and a few others for sale here in Denver Colorado from my Father's collection.

I have a 686+ with a 5" barrel. Would you be interested in a stainless 7 shooter with a barrel length that S&W did not offer?

The barrel was installed at the S&W service center lots of years ago, cause the original 2 1/2" or 3" barrel was not what I wanted. I still have the original barrel, and it goes with the gun.

    $550.00
