1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

I just found a Remington 1100 Special LT-20, and I would like to purchase a modified or Rem-Choke barrel for this gun.

This is the gun with the english stock and short forearm, FYI.

I took a little time and looked up on gunbroker and found 2 that you might be interested in, 1) item#140406358 26" VR IC choke system and starting out at a penny 2)139940598 28" VR fixed mod choke for 148.00. Had a little spare time, hope this helps

    thanks

Thanks for the help. I will post a picture of this gun and the specs on the barrel tonight. I spoke to Remington yesterday, and they indicated that due to the short magazine tube on this gun a replacement barrel had to be from a Remington 1100 Special (or Special Field) LT-20. A regular LT-20 will not work.

Interesting as to Remingtons response---I have owned both 870 and 1100 --20 ga "special field" guns (like yours, the 1100 SF had a short forearm). The 870 does require a special field barrel--however std lt 20 barrels worked fine on my SF 1100-20 ( it came with a 24" and I lated obtained a 28" choke tube and a fixed skeet choke barrel).
Suggest you try a few shops in your area and try a lt 20 just to see if it fits (I'm sure it will)!
    regards
    Bob

12 gauge 1100 Special Field guns will take a standard barrel. 870s will not. According to the previous poster, there is interchangability in 20 gauge guns if you use the right barrel. I would assume at Remington, the answer will depend on who answers the phone. When I was with a collectors group on a research project at Ilion about ten years ago, calls that somehow referred to the guns we collect were all referred to the office we occupied.

According to the Remington web site it takes the same barrel as the LT 20ga as that is the only one listed.

    thanks

Thank you for all the advice. This is a great forum.

I have shot a 12 gauge 870 Special Field since buying it new 20 or so years ago and have been searching 2 years for a 20 gauge. Stopped by Cabelas Tuesday night and they had put this 1100 special on the rack 30 minutes earlier. Needless to say it never went back. It will be a great gun to teach the kids to shoot.

Now I'll take your advice and visit a few gun shops. I knew the 870 was really fussy, sounds like the 1100 is less so...
