Gene, I think Jim is still handling support for the ATS AutoMates and MEC is taking care of theirs. I could be wrong, though...

Ed you might be right but my guess is that he would return a phone call if it was something that he can do.

Rsuls == no need to keep posting on here- as if he won't - Jim is a quality act-

    regards from Iowa

Jim Benn told me he was going to continue handling any problems with the first edition units. Yes, the phone numbers work but he may be out of town. I am sure he will call once he gets my messages. He has helped me in the past so I am not losing hope yet.

    Thanks,
    rslus PA

Well, it looks like Jim Benn is abandoning his customers that bought the first versions on the automate units. I called Mec and they could offer no help since their automate units are different then jim's first units. Knowing Jim, I thought he would at least return my call even if he would not continue the technical support as he said he was going to do.

Gene from Iowa: I assume you do not have one of the first automate units from Jim Benn and is easy for you to voice your opinion.

Jim told me he was taking his wife on a extended vacation - somethng he'd not been able to do for years.

He could even be in Europe.

Furthermore, I'm not sure if he should even be assisting with the old units. He sold EVERYTHING to Mec, the parts, schematics, programmers, boards, patents, and I am sure there are some agreements too he has to live up to.

I can't see Jim abandoning his earlier customers.

If he is on an extended vacation, that would account for his not returning your phone calls.

The last time I had communication with him, he told me that he would be taking care of those who bought the earlier models, and that MEC would take care of the ones who bought the later ones.

I have one of the earlier ones, so if something were to happen to it, I'd be in the same boat.

Hopefully, one of these days he will get back to you.

And trust me, I know it isn't easy to be patient when you reloader needs fixing.

    Good Luck!

    Thanks for the help.

Yes, I had to go out and buy a Mec 9000 hydraullic unit to continue loading.

I'll shelve the Automate should Jim contact me in the future.
