If you choose hardchrome, Mahovsky's Metalife does a very good job. There is nothing more durable than hardchrome which has the gray color of a stainless steel kitchen sink. Nickel may not be as durable although its still very good and I like the appearance better.

...there was a metal refinisher spotlighted in Trapshooting USA one or two issues ago. I believe they were located in Michigan - they did all kinds of plating and finish work.

A second vote for Mahovsky's Metalife. They have coated 3 receivers for me and would highly recommend the product and the service.

Another vote for Mahovsky's - he uses the Metaliife process.

I have had numerous firearms done by them - one over twenty years ago and it looks like the day I firs got it back.

Great plating - great people to work with.

Get use to it! I don't for the life of me understand how they stay in business. I tried using Mahovsky's a couple of years back on a project gun and never got a return call or email.

I've learned since then to just dent it to Doug Braker and all is good!
