He was a member of the 384th Field Artillery Batallion, 103rd Division and was a life member of the VFW. On September 14, 1947, Ray married Hazel Annear at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Richland Center, now known as Peace United Methodist. They built their home in Richland Center in 1953, living there until the present time. Ray worked for and managed the sporting goods and hardware department in Krouskop’s Department Store, retiring in 1984. He also enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, trapshooting and visiting with family and friends. Ray and Hazel followed many televised sporting events.
