I came accross about 5Lbs of this powder from a family members house.
I have no load data for it. I had been told this was used for a HDCP powder.
If anyone could direct me to some load data, it would really help me out.

    Thanks Jason in PA.

    Rick,

Do you have any data for 12 Ga. 1 oz. loads using 473 in old style AA hulls? Looking for around 1200 fps.

    Thanks,
    Wayne

1977 Winchester-Western ball powder loading data. It states in this book that 452AA is the factory powder in 12 ga. AA loads, and 473AA is the factory powder in the 20 ga. AA loads. The only 1 oz. loads listed use the 452AA powder. There are some applications for 473AA powder in the 1 1/8 oz. loads however. I think when this book was published, the theory was throw as much lead as possible. Loading data in AA hulls up to 1 1/2 oz.

I loaded 473 powder for 1 1/8 oz loads many years ago. It was a good powder but I remember serious bloopers when I tried my reloads at temperatures around 20 below zero F.

I finished up some last year. It takes a good fire to get started in cooler weather.

I try not to shoot in the cold weather, so the bloops shouldn't be a problem
I am only loading this for practice anyways. It was free so I should shoot it. Thanks to all the replies on this subject.
