I have some 452AA that I want to use up. My lyman book is quite old so I'm looking for updates for 1oz. -win SL or DRXL lime - Winchester one piece hull. 1200/1250fps. Thanks. TM

EDIT: 20.5 is the number I found looking in TS search. For one oz. load.

I just spent a week developing a soft shooting load for 452AA powder...

If you want light recoil and tight patterns , maybe you should experiment as I did and you may be suprized on how good this powder really is..

    I use AA compression hulls , 18.5 gr.452AA ( MEC #28 bushing ); AA12SL wad and 444 grains ( 1 oz )of #8 extra hard shot..

I was blown away with how soft it shoots and smoke balls I received..

It also was impressive how clean the outsides of the hulls remained , now the barrel was a different thing but then dirty barrels don't bother me it's the smoked clay that matters..

Have fun with this powder , wish I had a hundred pounds myself to load up..

Winchester 452AA is the same powder as Hogdon Trap 100.

I use it in 45 ACP.

Info can be found in old manuals.

Boy, I sure miss the 452AA. I reloaded with it for many, many years. Like in everything else, NOTHING IS FOREVER.

It is very close to the WST, which I had then to move on to.

It is interesting to see above that Hodgdon Trap 100 is the same powder. Is there some place one could research this to be absolutely 100% positive?

If this is true, then I would stop using the WST and move to the 452AA because of all my chronographed load data.

I have researched the two powders to make sure.

    Google is your friend.

    did a search for ww452AA trap 100

    http://www.google.com/search?q=ww452AA+trap+100&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a

    Lots of hits.
