Might not like what you end up with......

"CHICAGO (MarketWatch) -- The Treasury Department is resisting General Motors' push for the government to sell off its stake in the auto maker, The Wall Street Journal reports. Following a $50 billion bailout in 2009, the U.S. taxpayers now own almost 27% of the company.

But the newspaper said GM executives are now chafing at that, saying it hurts the company's reputation and its ability to attract top talent due to pay restrictions.

Earlier this year, GM GM +0.10% presented a plan to repurchase 200 million of the 500 million shares the U.S. holds with the balance being sold via a public offering. But officials at the Treasury Department were not interested as selling now would lead to a multibillion dollar loss for the government, the newspaper noted. "

If Odungbeetle wins, he'll be glad to sell at a huge loss after the election. He'll then be free to complete his mission, to destroy this country financially.

Yeppers! The guvmint owns GM forever. I have to say the same upper management that got GM into the position of needing a bailout didn't have the brains to consider who was giving them the bailout money. Stoopid is as stoopid does!

    bigdogtx and all:

Merriam-Webster defines socialism in several ways. One is, "a system or condition of society in which the means of production are owned and controlled by the state"

Dictionary.com defines socialism as "a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole."

Gub'mint Motors is an example where the government owns and controls the means of production in the industrial sector. obummercare is an example in the service sector of the economy. Passage of obummercare actually served two socialist purposes.

    1. In a single fell swoop obummercare put 1/6th of the U.S. economy under the direct control of the federal government.

    2. It also made large segments of the populace dependent on the government for healthcare.

That segment includes new people like me who already had adequate private medical coverage. That coverage will be eliminated as provisions of obummercare are implemented and drive private medical plans out of the market.

Solyndra is a variation on the socialist theme. It’s an example of government control and allocation of CAPITAL. The capital was money confiscated from the private sector and allocated to obummer's bundlers at Solyndra. Cash for Clunkers was a program intended to spread government confiscated capital over a wider slice of the populace. There are numerous other examples but you get the point.

Another hallmark of socialism is government distribution or redistribution of income. obummer has been a big fan of that. He's been quoted saying so several times going back to at least 1998.

In closing consider this... Anyone that owns a pricy target gun (or several) and has the financial wherewithal to register clay targets obviously has to damn much money. obummer and his lib dem toadies intend to take MORE of your money so they can give it to the entitlement class. As one recent cartoon said, "Let me be perfectly clear. I'm going to take money from people who didn't vote for me and give it to those who did."
