Like myself many of you got a letter from ATA promoting Life Line Screening at a local church, etc. I did some easy research and am not sure this is a good idea for everyone. Wonder how much ATA gets kicked back for each of their members that have this done? Also, if anyone has any experience or advice on this testing I would like to hear it.

    Steve,

My wife and I have it done every year. It's not through the ATA (have to check into that), but the results are sent to you and your doctor within a couple of days. Well worth the $100 (each) spent.

If it was so great then why would they have to advertise to talk you into it? We get these ads constantly from just about everybody.

If those tests are so critical then why doesn't the doc do them when I get my annual physical? If he can't do them then why doesn't he refer me to a specialist like he does when I get my butt scoped? Call me a skeptic, but this sounds like it's better for the providers than me. JMHO

I had them do all their tests on me about 2 years ago. My tests results were that I was fine and in great shape. A year goes by and I start to get letters saying that I had better have them do more tests because I was in terrible shape according to their records. Funny that their letters to me advising their tests results say just the opposite. Sounded like they were just drumming up business due to a slow ecomony. But, if you haven't been tested for the clotting issues, getting the tests could be lifesaving.
