What type of change do we want? We forget that the constitution was a contract between the several states and the federal government. We have forgotten the purpose of the CONSTITUTION is to ensure our freedom (personal individual liberty) not enslave us further to the national state under the notion that the state will take care of us. The 10th Amendment AKA the reserve clause reads, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” The Tenth Amendment restates the Constitution's principle of federalism by providing that powers not granted to the national government nor prohibited to the states by the constitution of the United States are reserved to the states or the people. Each state has to have a balanced budget for fiscal responsibility. Article 1 Section 8 of the constitution describes the responsibilities of congress. The federal government does NOT have to have a balanced budget. The federal government may need to borrow money to defend the country. When congress realized they could borrow money to pay for entitlement programs they went hog wild. No where in the constitution does it read that the government has the responsibility to provide the public with housing, food, water, retirement, healthcare, or transportation. Obama is NOT the answer. Congress working together will just spend more money thinking they can and should fix the country. All any of them want is more power to control our lives. I am tired of being a slave to the state (national government) paying higher and higher taxes. What will our children have to pay? A 40% federal tax, 20% FICA tax, 15% Medicare tax when we are all on the single payer plan, 10% state tax, 20% consumption tax, “We the people who choose to be free men need to take our country back. It is not about majority rule; it is about freedom from the majority.” Where does it read in the constitution that the majority has the right and should rule the minority? I for one choose liberty. May GOD have mercy on us all.
