So much trajedy in the news...people poor and hurting due to no fault of their own, a terrible hurricane, "leaders" exploiting trajedy, conroversisies at the highest levels of government, alleged crimes at the highest levels of government, weather problems, economic problems etc. etc.

What are the good things happening that we have overlooked, i.e. stories that don't give sensational and exaggerated sound bites?

We all could likely use the mental health of something inspiring...

I finally got the weed-n-feed on my front yard. There's food in the freezer and whiskey on the shelf. I'm not cold, not wet and not hungry(from Willie Nelson). These are the good times. Now if the ammunition thing would settle down.....

There's a place being prepared just for me, and I can't wait to see it. I will be there for eternity and I wonder if they have trap shooting there? I'm sure my scores will be better than they are today...

A Korean War Vet that resides in the same nursing home with my father always responds to "how are you doing, today" type questions with this" I'm much better now than when I was freezing in my foxhole". I guess it's all in how you look at it.

The Maple Park, IL Police Department held their 6th annual "Pulling for Special Olympics" charity shoot this last Sunday. More than 350 shooters from the northeastern IL area gathered to participate in both Sporting Clays and Trapshooting events. The final total collected from entry fees, raffles, and auctions totaled over $37,000. It was great to be a part of this.

Souls are eternal. If you don't like this life, you've got many more comming to work out your problems. Personally, I woke up this morning, I'm enjoying some coffee as I write this, and later I'm going down to the club and shoot for a few hours. Life is good. I even enjoyed "ragging" on Burgess this morning, he is a great target. LOL

Helped a young man push his car off a busy road today. He shook my hand and said thank you. Nice kid. Glad I stopped.
