Amen! WS starts next Wed so the Phils will be able to start w/Hamels again. We just need the Red Sox to win a few more games to wear down the AL champs pitching rotation.

From a broken hearted, still mad as a hornet about the way my Cubs played Cubs fan, go get 'em Phils and don't look back. I'm so glad they wiped the Dodgers out of the NLCS. No more Manny crap to hear. -powderburn

Geoff Jenkins who just signed on with the Phillies is a family friend of ours. Heard he won't play much, but would like to see him do good if he does. He usually plays outfield, has a great arm. Go Phils. don q

Usually I pull for the National League team (except for the Red Sox), and a classic old team, but I think I'm going to have to pull for the Rays. They built an organization in their farm system, and have very low funds. The Cubs keep trading away their new guys for old guys! So go Rays!

I have no dog in this fight, but I'm hoping for an entertaining, competitive, 7-game series, that goes into extra innings in Game 7!

The Phillies, over the last 100 years, have the worst record in major league baseball. Prior to this years, the Rays finished in last place every year except the one where they managed to get up to second from last. Both teams are now in the World Series.

Stories like this remind me why I keep entering handicap events.

As a native Houstonian and life long Astro fan, I want you to know that a lot of people in Houston are pulling for the Phillies, because of Brad Lidge and Eric Bruntlett. Two really great guys. Lidge was the best closer I ever saw in 2004 and 2005. He struggled so much in 2006 and 2007 but never once complained or made excuses through it all. I was happy he got traded for his sake, I knew he needed a change of scenery, but nobody really thought he would be as good as he once was, Well I think he is maybe better.

These times just don't come along this often for Phils (or Eagles fans for that matter). I go clear back to the days of Whitey (I actually cried when he died), Robbie & Granny; 'The Whiz Kids'.

When I was in boot camp, in '64, the Phils 'choked' up a huge lead to blow the pennant in the last week of the season. Not long afterward, the Phils came within a few games of breaking the Major League record of 23 consecutive losses but they couldn't even do that right; why bother? They already SET that record for consecutive losses in 1961.

When I got back from Vietnam in '67, the first thing I did (well, ALMOST the first thing I did) was go watch Jim Bunning beat the 'Big Red Machine' at Connie Mack.

It was so sweet watching them break the Dodger fans' hearts for a change.

Ordinarily, I'd root for the Rays just b/c until this year, they were a bunch of last place nobodies. But this year, it's 'The Fightin's'.

PS, Any of you Rays fans know why they aren't the DEVIL Rays any more?

This year I'm not rooting for one team over the other. Normally I root for the national league, because I'm a Cardinal fan, but I gotta say I kinda like the Rays. So I will not be rooting for anybody, just want to see a good series and some well played baseball.

At least the Cubs and Red Sox aren't in it. Thank God!

From a frustrated Yankees fan, I'm hoping the Rays pull this one out. Just want to see someone new win for a change (funny coming from a Yanks fan, eh?). Plus, I'm from the wrong side of PA to root for the Phillies!
