A shooting buddy of mine (a retired Navy Commander) sent me this. I hope it moves you as much as it moved me.

    From my buddy
"I never knew this was done.  Even Bain never mentioned it. It is done all too frequently at Quantico.  Each attendee is provided a copy out of respect for their departed brothers.  It gets no publicity that I know of.  It was sent to me by a friend whose life-long friend lost his grandson in Afghanastan last year.  Being a career Marine, the grandfather and mother escorted the widow to the dinner.  I believe she was pictured hugging the marine.

    OORAH!"

    INTRO

WHY IS IT THAT SOME UNDERSTAND WHAT MATTERS MOST ABOUT AMERICA ... AND THEY RESPECT IT SO DEEPLY THAT THEY ARE WILLING TO MAKE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICES FOR IT?
AND OTHERS, HAVE NO CLUE WHAT SO EVER...

This slide show consists of photos taken at a formal dinner at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico , VA.  It is a beautiful presentation of the honor, commitment and pride that today's heroes share with yesterday's.
If you know a Marine or someone of any branch of the Military (of any age), make sure he or she sees this.  Wouldn't hurt if all other Americans saw it too.
Put the sound on for this.

Chip, thanks for posting the video. It was so moving and makes me sad at the loss of our fellow man but makes me angry when I think of those that have been lost and then decisions are made as though their lives didn't mean anything. I wish that the tears we shed for their loss would make a difference but I know that our prayers can. May God Bless our fighting men and women and their families both past and present. Jackie B. Once more for my good friend Milt. A Marine officer and co worker. He went in after I got out and I used to pick on him by telling him how every Marine Sergeant in Viet Nam was issued a fresh Second Lieutenant ("butter bars" because of the gold color bar) to polish until the Silver shined through (First Lieutenant). His son Brian followed in his foot steps and as a Marine Captain was killed in Al Anbar province Iraq in May 2006.

God Bless and thank you to ALL who serve.
