Well I finally made it home from the Missouri Summer Diamond Handicap. No diamonds in my pocket however. Had a fun time at Linn Creek and weather was perfect, maybe a little windy at times.

Had a few spare moments to take a picture and got Leo doing what Leo does.

I know many of you have been to MO for thier shoots. Me too. But that traphouse is the best in the business. Easy to shoot over. Good b/g too. The trees are off in the distance

How does Leo do it without an exotic SBT gun, I don't know of an o/u that has 34" barrels---wow we could all save a lot of money shooting the gun that Leo uses.

Left to right, Leo, Karrol Hildebrand, Troy Ellis (Troy has a club in Jefferson City). JD Overstreet was not there. Steve Fuller would have been on Leo's left, out of the picture.

Not too hard to catch Leo inkballing a target. Full choke for smoke!

The man is tough, he can shoot the program in the hot sun, then shoot off well into the night and do it again the next day.

Leo shoots his topsingle for handicap. And, there are many 34" o/u's out there. The generally don't swing too well..

I always thought Leo shot quicker than that!!...

BigM-P, Leo shoots when things are right, not timed? 790X800! Not too bad for an overall average I'd think!!! When he begins to shoot, something about him changes. All we have to do is figure out what that change is? :) Hapster

The really interesting story in this photo is the fact that the right hand target, in the far right of the picture, has just been smoked and Leo is already focused on the second target before the smoke even has a chance to start breaking up. Free lesson here, folks... Dan Thome (Trap2)

    Dan,

Not trying to start an argument here, I'm not sure what you are referring to. It looks like a singles target to me and the spot to the 11 o'clock position of post 5 shooter's head appears to be the wad.

I think post 4 shooter has a single barrel gun, perhaps an Alfermann?

No debate, the target is smoked by one of the best shooters ever.

Don.... You may be right, but, it sure LOOKS like Leo is on the target on the left, if it is, indeed, a target. Which is it Karla, a singles event or a doubles event? Dan

If they are shooting doubles Hildebrand is going to have to load fast.

Leo shoots his Beretta over/under for both singles and doubles. For singles he uses the full choke top barrel. He uses a 34 inch top single and a 32 inch over/under.

Probably the nicest man in all of trap shooting, with Frank Hoppe and Tim Robb close behind.

On post 3, Leo would shoot his right bird first, so I'm pretty sure this was singles since I can't see any orange to the left. I got to bring home a beautiful diamond bracelet and a diamond necklace. The club did a great job (thanks Randall Crawford, MTA director) of picking out some awesome jewelry.
