I just got into shooting registered shoots and am gettin serious into it and the glasses I have now are just to dark for my liking. I have oakley half jackets with polarized black iridium lenses... My question is I'm wanting to get some lenses for them that is lighter. What color would you suggest?

    Thanks

Lens color would probably be dictated by target color and or background color. It does not vary based on discipline. Dark is not good.

You want as much light as possible into your eyes without squinting. ( rule of thumb ).

I prefer either neutral gray or vermillion.

    Yellow gives me a headache.

I have the same glasses as you and the persimmons lenses are all I use. I shoot a lot of sporting clays and the persimmons lenses work well for me in all settings and backgrounds.

    Pink.

has you covered in shady cages and sunny cages.

Most are orange targets or black targets.

Pink knocks the green down and explodes the orange.

I use pink 99% of the time unless its a 90-100% open course and its a cloudless sky then i will switch them out for violet.

Just my thoughts and i shoot a ton of sporting.

Persimmon lenses make me pucker up. HeH.

I like the dark purple or vermillion on bright days. Makes the targets leap out and at times they look a lot like a big slice of watermelon floating across the sky. Amazing how seeing the targets seems to make them slow down and become easier to hit. Waiting on my RE's so I can use the colors though.

Here`s some tips from Decot`s site. I like the "Target Sun." (Purple)
