    I am proud to announce that the 60th Anniversary season of the Lehigh Valley Trapshooter's League is scheduled to begin at the Rural Sportsmen's Association in Trexlertown, PA on September 15th, 2013. Our league's sole purpose is to support local trapshooting clubs that offer shooters the opportunity to participate in our sport.

    We cordially invite all trapshooters from North and South Eastern PA and neighboring New Jersey to join one of the longest running and largest winter trapshooting leagues in the country.

    Last year, 379 shooters participated in our 15 shoot season. North End Rod and Gun Club of New Tripoli, was crowned champion for the second consecutive season and a record 26th time in our 60 year history. Over $13,000 in prizes and awards were returned to our shooters at our season ending banquet. Seven clubs compete for team trophies and each shooter competes for individual awards.

    This year's schedule is as follows:
    Sept. 15 at Rural; Sept. 29 Coplay @ Lappawinzo; Oct. 06 Pioneer @ Pocono Slate Belt; Oct. 13 at Pocono Slate Belt; Oct. 27 at Lappawinzo; Nov. 03 at North End; Nov. 17 Coplay @ Ontelaunee; Dec. 08 at Rural; Dec. 15 at Ontelaunee; Dec. 29 at Pocono Slate Belt; Jan. 05 at Lappawinzo;
    Jan. 19 Pioneer @ Rural; Jan. 26 at Ontelaunee; Feb. 09 at North End;
    Feb. 23 Shoot-off at North End (Shoot-off Signups close at 3 PM!)

    New shooters are always welcome to join our 25 bird league. There is a once per year $5.00 league membership fee. Shooters are required to select a club for our team competition. Practice rounds are $5 and record rounds are $7. Sub-Junior record rounds are free! Sign ups are from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM on our Sunday shoot days. If you wish to find our more about our league, visit us at one of our shoots. Visitors are always welcome to shoot practice and to speak with our officers about how we structure our events. Check us out on the Lehigh Valley Trapshooter's League Facebook page.

    As I have stated before this is the best league around. Great clubs to shoot at. This league runs smooth as silk. AA or a D class shooter, something for everyone. Travis and I will be there. Look forward to seeing everyone at the first shoot. Even if you never shot in a league come out and give it a try. It's fun and only 25 targets. Good shooting to everyone. Bob Foose

    The LVTL opening was a huge success. 379 shooters joined the league Sunday at Rural Sportsmans in Trexlertown PA. More are expected to join at the next shoot at Lappawinzo F&G Sep. 29. A strong possibility of over 400 shooters is likely. If you would like to shoot the finest Trap league ever, join us on Sept. 29th!!

    Thanks to everyone who turned out for the League opener on Sunday at Rural. The officers were overwhelmed as this was our biggest opening day in nearly 10 years. 379 memberships were sold and there were a number of known participants who were unable to attend the shoot yesterday.

    Rural ran a terrific shoot for us, a great credit to all the volunteers. We had new shooters from as far as Lancaster, Lebanon and Lansdale. The Pocono Slate Team has a few shooters from New Jersey and as far away as Pike county! Many of our sponsors turned out and some joined in with the shooting!

    Diane Arner-Motzkus has posted the individual results and standings on our Lehigh Valley Trapshooter's League Facebook page. Check it out!

    The officers cannot thank the shooters enough for making this 60th Anniversary season opener a success. See you all at Lappawinzo on the 29th of September. No shoot next week so our ATA members can attend their respective PA Zone shoots. Good shooting to all!
