I am trying to learn. Which one do you like with or without brass stud and why? Does it depend on what gun you shoot? Or do you not like them at all? Thank you! Michelle

Just started using the pad with the magnet in it this year...........I had always used the toe pad before. I prefer the pad with the magnet, it allows me to rest my gun in a more natural position between shots.

I like the pad without brass peg and the pads that have woolly fabric on the backside against the shoe.

The stud keeps the gun from sliding...

I prefer the rule at our state high school shoot and all SCTP events,

"Absolutely no toe pads or magnetic ground pads are allowed. If you have a shooter that can not hold their gun between shots, do not enter them"

I know the guns are unloaded and broken open as in hinge guns, but something about pointing a gun at my foot just seems wrong.

I've never noticed any shooters of semi-aoutos resting their gun on their toe. Is that something that only hinge gun shooters do!

I typically use the toe rest from Bob Allen... the barrel rests against the raised leather edge... I do have an extra large toe rest by Gamekeeper, I use it on occasion and it's large enough to contain an O/U or SxS...

I shoot a 1100 & have put it on my toe all the time Just on my shoe or boot, but I have been looking at leather toe rest, just to keep the circles off my good shoes. I don't feel a toe rest is dangerous. When I was in the Marines I sleep in a sleeping bag with a M-16.

If you shoot a hole in your foot, you didn't need to be anywhere around guns in the first place.

You put your hand over the end of the barrel to screw/unscrew the choke and never think twice about it. I'll bet the kids in SCTP use screw in chokes which they change and retighten themselves and you never say a word about them pointing the end of their barrel at their hands but God forbid they rest an unloaded shotgun on their foot.

Some people can make something out of nothing.

I prefer the leather toe pad with no post on it.

I really try to stay away from threads like this, but I have to ask. Based on the age, physical condition and diet of most trapshooters is this a foot of a diabetic with diabetic neuropathy? All kiding aside, we get our eyes checked and consistently vist the eye doctor, when is the last time you had a physical? You owe it to yourself and your loved ones.

Actually he put his toes over the bathtub drain after pulling the plug. Now I know why mom always told me not to do that.

I use a Gunbuddy pad with the magnet in it. You can get them over this site. Martinpicker

I rest it on the toe of my shoe. The circles on my left shoe always attract comments at parties.

I like the magnetic leather rest from Shamrock Leather best. Some of the foam models will roll over and the barrel hits the concrete.
