$30 per bag in OC, California.

For those that want a cheaper option, check out my for sale thread about reclaimed shot. Excellent quality, graphited, and $25 per bag delivered to your door anywhere in the country.

I was going to get back into reloading but was shocked when I saw that shot had gone back up. It is cheaper for me to shoot Wally World specials than reload. I will reload when the price of shot comes back down to match the cost of cheap shells.

$30.00 in SE Michigan and probably heading higher.

Highflyer, even at $35/bag you can load for under $4 a box and get a better shell than what the cheap stuff at Wally World.

I have a rule of thumb. You can reload a flat of ammo for about the price of a bag of shot.

Shot here in Florida is about $38

Magnum is not up to 35.87 per bag in pallet quantities at Parks. Lead was a better investment last year than gold. I wonder if my wife would like some lead jewelry?

37.99 plus tax in Ft. Collins, Co.

So, I recalculated my cost for a box of reloads, it's still a good deal for me.

You have to wonder if the manufacturers will consider that with the higher lead prices, more and more people will determine that it's cheaper to buy bulk factory shells, thereby cutting the sales of reloading components. Then, if the primer, wad and powder prices were cut a bit to comensate, the volume of sales would go up, due to making reloading once again feasible.

Just a thought. I doubt it would ever happen.

I do not agree that you can load $38 shot cheaper than you can buy cheap shells right now. Please go to this cite's home page and use one of the reloading cost calculators and see what it it costing you -- right now it is costing me $4.65 to load shells if you do not count the costs of a hull. the beav

I just talked to the people at sierra bullets and they informed me that there prices have not changed in over 2 years!!! The retailers are the ones jacking up the price!!! My advice is to stock up when the price is low.If you can't afford to buy in bulk you are at their mercy.

I run the numbers for components in my area. I can't save any off the 4.67 Federals I can buy at Walmart. Shot prices need to come back down.

Dan, Just got 4 bags of your reclaimed and I have to say it is top quality! Clean, approx. 50/50 mix of 7 1/2 and 8's! Nicely tumbled, graphited and packaged and weights full 25 lb. plus. Shipped on 1/22 from california and arrived in Ky. today (1/25). Getting ready to re-order, reloading just got more cost effective. Wouldn't hesitate to use your shot on all varieties of registered targets.

    Thanks,
    Eddie Quire
