Base metal prices have been falling and lead closed at about 90 cents a pound today. Maybe lower shot prices will show up down the road a little bit.....here's hoping for all of us..!!!!........Uncle Sam, Pa.

In addition, I was just thinkin'.....if those morons in the U.S. Congress would get the lead out of their fannies then there would be a huge glut and prices would really fall.........I'm just sayin'........Uncle Sam, Pa.

We can only hope. Often times the price of finished goods does not follow the cost of raw materials, especially in a market with high demand.

    Fingers crossed

Shot was 54.99 a 25# bag yesterday at BASS PRO in Denver. What a flipping RIP-OFF store it's becoming. Yes, it was 7 1/2's and 8's and they had quite a few bags.

Retailers have to sell what they have purchased at the higher price first. That may take a while. You have to look at how many days we are into the drop in prices also. Hasn't been long.

Perazzi_MX8.....Cabelas here in MN had that same price on lead a few years back. It backed down to the low forties for a while but I am sure it's back up. I've been fortunate to have found better places to shop with better prices.

Stl Flyn , Those retailers will take a loss just like the fools that bought gold last month.

They may, depending on the supply available to the surrounding competition. You tend to see suppliers run out of lead often during these times of high prices. They try to sell what they have before they buy more, just to keep from having to much stock at a higher price. In my case, one store always is cheaper then the surrounding larger retailers, so he will sell out anyway before people go to the large retailers. He also buys, and has pallets of lead sitting out on the floor. Not much competition.

From what I seen of the recently available quantity of nice reclaimed lead that sold, that may make a difference as to when that higher priced new lead is sold out.

And then you will barely notice a drop.

On the news Monday they stated that their were ships waiting out at sea for several months to unload. That their was a big glutten purchase of oil on speculating the price was going to rise. As to why it was supposed to rise I did not hear. Bill
