Lead closed at $.53 today. And has been down for quite a while. Gasoline and diesel fuel is down for freight considerations. When will these price get into the shot and ammo "pipeline"?? Anybody hear any rumors of target load prices going down for 2009?? Shouldn't it start to happen soon??.....Uncle Sam, Pa.

And lead prices will fall even further once Obama bans the use of lead for shot and bullets.

Retail lead prices will probably fall more after the first of the year. Lead commodity contract prices tend to get locked in some number of days (60, 90?) in advance of delivery. We're probably paying for lead that was secured in July or August.

The fuel surcharge prices are still up there because suppliers probably fear an upward tick in oil prices if OPEC does cut production.

All speculation, of course, but those are some of the factors.

    Best,
    Dennis

But I think it would be nice if ammo prices came down soon so we can all plan on shooting more for the new target year!!!!
