1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

What an unusual find! I am selling on consignment for a friend a gun that he has had in his collection for over 30 years. We have a LC Smith FW Field Grade 20 gauge with the original box in 97% condition and may be unfired.

This little 20 is all original with beautiful case colors in near perfect condition. There is a slight discoloring in a small area on the bottom left side of the receiver (shown in pics) from storage but other than that the coloring is absolutely beautiful.

Barrel measures 28 inches in length and are marked Armor Steel. Right bore measures .613 with a choke of .596 giving a .017 constriction or modified. Left barrel measures .613 with a choke of .578 giving a constriction of .035 or Full. Barrels have a raised solid rib and ring like chimes. This is an extractor gun. Bluing is all original and in excellent condition with only a couple of small flaws, no dings or dents.

Stocks are in excellent condition as the pictures show and only a couple of small marks. Finish is all original as is the butt plate. Stock dimensions are 1 1/2 X 2 1/2 X 14 1/8 over original plate. There are no cracks dings or large dents.

I did not assemble the gun for pictures as it appears to have only been assemble a couple times since 1939. There is a slight drag mark (shown in the pictures) where the extractor rubbed on the face.

Box face is shown in the pictures and writing is in pencil. Seems the person didn't know how to spell field. It appears to me that the orinal writing was in some sort of ink that faded out almost completely and was gone over with pencil but there is no way to tell for sure. Box is very old but solid and has the interior cardboard tube for the barrels and spacer.

If you are an LC Smith collector and want a neat piece this may be the one you are looking for. Price of the gun is $3200 plus $35 shipping in the continental U.S. Contact me at esetter5@roadrunner.com with any questions or for additional pictures. I have really enjoyed looking over this piece of history and holding it in my hands and I'm sure the new owner will as well.

Well, just received an email from the guy who called me and said he would take it. Here is the actual email, "Gerry I have decided not to buy this at this time....just does not fit in with my collecting at this point. Please let next guy in line have it...thanks for all you help and hope to talk to you again." So, it is back up for sale. Just goes to show the check isn't always in the mail. For the guys that I told it was sold, I apologize, if you are still interested please contact me.

This is only the second time this has happened to me and I have to say almost everyone that I have dealt with has been great, both buying and selling. I guess he just had second thoughts. Anyway, two other people have now said they want to purchase the gun so it will all work out in the end. Thanks

It's not just buyers that backout. Last week a seller had 2 guns for sale and backed out.

Back up for sale? This is horrible! Can you imagine what I'm going to have to let my wife buy for herself before she agrees to let me buy this Elsie? Wow, I need a secret slush fund!
