What do you use as the last coat on a true oil finish?

I'm down to my last coat of tru oil and I have a kit that says to use the sheen that comes with it if you don't want the high gloss effect. Otherwise, leave it alone. I'm just wondering if I want the high gloss look or a hand rubbed look. Any comments?

Let it dry for a week or more. Then use a compound to rub it out such as Stock Sheen or Rottenstone.

Brownells makes really great rubbing compound and that is what I use. Depends on if you like gloss or satin. 4/0 wool is your friend then polish, good advice on waiting for at least a week to dry. You can also use 600 to 800 wet or dry and use it wet, just be real careful with the pressure you use.Don't hurry anything.
