I was thinking of going to Vegas on the Friday after Thanksgiving and staying until the following Monday. By myself. I always wanted a weekend in Vegas during college and nfl football season. Plus the horses should be running somewhere Sat and Sun.

It seems feasible while I'm out there to get to the Clark County facility and shoot a few rounds of trap.

It looks like it's 23 miles or so from, say, Imperial Palace to the range. I would not rent a car. How can I get out there from the strip? Is it too pricey to buy four boxes of shells, rent and gun and shoot four rounds?

I was wondering the same thing I'll be there in December and saw on their website they have rental shotguns for $20 a day, birds $6 a round. Anyone know what kind of shotguns?

Danny, take your gun with you if you are flying. It is a no brainer. If you have an AMEX gold card, you can get it on free. Mike

It would be cheaper to rent a car than take a taxi. Or do like EuroJoe said and drop a lot at the table and the casino will take you there, for free!

On my first trip to Vegas an old guy told me - "boy there is a lot of free stuff in this town, but unfortunately you can't afford any of it".

Car rental is almost a must, unless a concierge or host will provide you with transportation from the hotel. (happens quite often!)

Our rental guns are SKB Over/Unders. You can rent them for $10/hr, or $20 for the entire day. You can also switch them out at no extra charge if you also want to shoot skeet or 5-Stand.

You can have a great breakfast or lunch at a good price at the Shotgun Center while your here.

It has been cool the past few days but normal highs this time of year is in the low 70s. May very well be that way next week.

We have Remington STS & Nitros, Winchester AA & Super Handicap, and Fiocchi in the 1oz Exacta loads as well as little and White Rinos @ $75/flat and no tax!

I like twotimer's post. "If you have an Amex Gold Card, you can get it on free." Do they insist on holding on to your card while you are "getting it on"? Watch out when the bill comes.

Rent a car, rent the gun, buy the shells at the club. Add it up and you will be out a whole lot less than what it would cost you to stay in the Casino and play table games for a day.

Shop the car rentals. You will be surprised how inexpensive it can be; and don't wait til you get there to rent a car. Do it on-line ahead of time.

Clark County is a great place to shoot. Went there last Friday; 60 degrees and great birds; help is very friendly.

    dmarbell,

If your staying at the Imperial Palace you should be saving all sorts of cash and have plenty of scratch left to either rent a car or just buy a gun while there. If you have a players card seems like every room they had was free.

Last time I was at the Imperial it was quicker to walk down the staris than wait for elevators to take you down........and inside the casino was so smokey it looked like it was on fire. l.g.

It looks like I won't be going to Vegas after all. Some things have changed that will prevent it, at least right now.

If I can get out there later, I will definitely get to the Clark County site, even if I have to rent a car.

    Thanks to all who responded.

It sounds like trapshooting didn't miss a beat since LVTP closed down. I'm hoping to get back there and I'll drag Danny along with me.
