My wife is setting claims to my new trap gun which is in her hands. If she keeps the gun what length of pull for a young woman of 5'5" would you suggest? Comb kit will be added. This hurts I was playing with the idea of selling the gun or trading it. Oh well! Thanks for the replys.

My wife is taller than 5.5 and had to have her stock set at 12 and half inches, L.0.P. Not to say your wife needs it soo short though. Other women I know are around 13 or so.

All depends on her build...Chest, arm length, etc. Take it to a place that will fit the gun to her. Best investment you'll ever make. Been there ~ done that.

The most significant change I made to my wifes gun was buying the WENIG LADIES Trap stock with the reduced grip to trigger length. My wife literally went AAAHHHH when she got a hold of the new stock. LOP is a touch under 13" with a good amount of toe out which also was a big help.

My wife does not shoot enough to have a true custom stock made. So the Semi inletted stock form WENIG was a great buy and can be fitted to suite your needs. I only wish I had a adjustable comb installed. Maybe if my wife shoots more we can add that later

Mike, you just have to "bite the bullet" on this one...for two reasons. One, the gun, and two the custom fitting she's doubtless going to need. I presume you want to preserve the original stock. IF you can find a Wenig Ladies stock that will fit the gun and maybe a matching forend, it still might not fit true enough for her and further adjustments may be needed. You said you wanted to add an adjustable comb. In for a penny, in for a pound. Still going to be a bunch of money. Once all of the work is done, I hope she enjoys shooting it!

Mike, you just stepped into the middle of a VERY high-class problem .. a true sidelock.

If you can't talk her into an ASE, DT-10, P-gun, etc. ... My suggestion is to call Dennis and talk it over with him. I just spoke with him last week abt restocking a sidelock, and he has re-stocked at least one S0-4, so he knows the ins & outs of sidelock issues - and they are not trivial.

    How abt some pics, anyhow?

Call Larry Wehinger and have him fit your wife. He's an expert and can make a stock or at least give you the dimensions to have one made. His beautiful wife, soon to enter the ATA Hall Of Fame can attest to that. His ad is usually in Trap & Field. Larry know.
