You have to read the thread from the bottom up.

    Mr. Shaffer:
The truth is exactly as I stated. There is no skin and they are not painted.

    Hello
The KX-6...does the stock have some kind of skin applied over the wood?
    Thank You

So in other words, they give an ugly piece of wood a face lift! So what's next, cast receivers? Lol.

Sounds the same as the beretta Xtra-Grain.

This would be the type of thing I would expect out of Browning. They have seen to cheapen up a lot of things with their guns recently to keep the price down. Beretta has not done themselves any favors with the "extra" wood that they put on some of their guns.

Krieghoff would have been much better off by simply installing a little taller rib and offering a true RH or LH stock for the KX-5. Yeah they could have played around with the embeleshing a bit too so that it would look a little different.

I guess when we all joked about it being called a KY-5, we were closer to the truth than what Krieghoff is!

I like the concept of the KX-6 and they will likely sell out the limited run they do on their KX/KS models...BUT...I havent heard anyone wanting what they have done to the wood. It cheapens it up and/or gives that impression. If you asked....I wager the vast majority would prefer "Plain Jane" wood over the enhanced stuff. (Perazzi seems to do well with nondescript stocks)

    Really disappointments me, Krieghoff.
